Having completed a BA in Fine Art from NCAD, a diploma in Interior Design and spent a year in Letterfrack Galway learning furniture design, Ruth somehow found herself at a desk!
Longing to get back to creative pursuits, Ruth went looking for a venue where she could go to learn, create and make contemporary arts & crafts that didn’t involve signing up for weeks at a time, handing over large amounts of money and sitting in drafty old fashioned halls – she couldn’t find one!
Realising that she and many others had expertise and skills in contemporary art, design and crafts that people wanted to learn but had no venue to do so, she set up The Craft Lounge!
